Leaving a Legacy:

Wills, Trusts, Estate and Giving

After you have provided for loved ones, why not support

the other things in life that gave you joy?

The Order of Preachers, Dominican Friars  Province of St. Joseph the Worker, Nigeria and Ghana, is part of an international Catholic religious order founded in Spain in the early 13th century by St. Dominic de Guzman, O.P.

800 years later, the purpose continues in the mission to Preach and Teach for the Salvation of Souls, by working with all people of good will through Prayer, Study, Community and Apostolate; it works alongside all people of faith and goodwill, which is done through Catholic Christian ministry and by being available to those who are often at the edges of Church and society.

Your Bequests in a Will or Trust serve the communities throughout Nigeria, Ghana, and Zambia, including running parishes, working in prisons and hospitals, Chaplaincies, and supporting Dominican University Ibadan. It also supports Dominican communities worldwide, particularly in Nigeria, Ghana, and Zambia.

By leaving a gift to the Dominicans of Nigeria and Ghana in your Will, you are helping to ensure that the work and ministry of the province will continue for many generations to come. All gifts, whether large or small, are immensely important to the charity. It is thanks to so many of the legacies of the past that we have been able to continue our work, building God’s Kingdom on earth, even when your earthly life is over.

Benefactors are remembered regularly in our Masses and prayer intentions, and our deceased benefactors share in a Mass offered for them each month of the year and also in daily Mass during the month of November. We brought nothing into the world when we came, and we will take nothing out of it when we leave, but the work of building God’s Kingdom continues after our death.

When you inform us of your intention to remember the Dominican Province of Nigeria and Ghana in your Will, we will add you to our Paryer and Mass Intentions, there is no obligation – this is simply a mark of gratitude and in recognition of your commitment to the future of the St. Joseph the Worker, Nigeria and Ghana.

Whether you have already written your will or still have to write one, including a gift to St. Joseph the Worker, Nigeria and Ghana, it is a simple process that takes a few moments.

If you would like to speak to someone about leaving a legacy, please call Rev Fr. Sydic, O.P., with the information below, and he will be thrilled to speak with you.
